Opus 17

by Bryan on May 10, 2010

Opus 17 is a German style tracker organ with mechanical key, electric slider pedal, and electric stop action. The case consists of a Rückpositiv division, two pedal towers, surrounding a main case containing pedal, Hauptwerk, and Oberwerk. The vertical layout of the main case has the swell below the great division. The Chamade is directly above the organists head, and is on 8 inches of wind. The order of manuals is as follows:

Manual 1: Ruckpositiv, Manual II: Hauptwerk, Manual III: Oberwerk.

The sound is not harsh, but bright, like that of a German organ in a cathedral acoustic. The few stops that are not German, aid in color, such as the soft Italian Principal. The facade is a very traditional case design, with chromatic pipes from the pedal, great, and Ruckpositiv. I hope you enjoy the stoplist and drawings. Please give input. Thank you.
