I have traditionally drawn my concept sketches by hand, but with my latest drawing, I decided to move to the 21st century and use TurboCAD to draw the facade. This creates the ability to take the design to full scale, and design the entire organ (time permitting of course). I am excited to start using CAD more, and look forward to designing more organs.
Opus 12 is a 3 manual, mechanical action instrument. It is planned to probably be around 50-60 ranks. The Oberwerk division is housed at the top of the organ, with only the swell shades exposed. The upper-work of the Hauptwerk is below that. Above the console is the Positiv division. The two outside towers of the organ house the lower-work of the Hauptwerk and Pedal divisions. Click here to view the drawing in .jpg format, or post a comment in the guestbook to receive a .dwg format. I hope you enjoy the drawing.

Thanks. I do run Turbo Cad. I will email you my opinions. Take Care,
Bryan
Looking good on the CAD drawing. I use a sort of cheap-o application but not fully satisfied with it. It does well enough but I would like to move to something more adaptable to pipe organ usage and smoother to use. You say you are running TurboCAD. What do you think of it in general and how does it do for you in your opinion? You mentioned that there are tags an notes on your drawings. I would like to see it in its functioning form. These apparently do not appear in the JPG image of the drawing.
Cheers. {:-)
